Welcome to Monday, and the latest edition of our state of the union. First things first, we'd like to draw your attention to three different events happening in the area this weekend, the first of which is pictured above.
KCCC 2016 guests Darryl Woods and Anthony "AO" Oropeza will be participating in a Comic Book and Sports Art Exhibit on Saturday at the Alcott Art Center. Be sure to turn out and support not only two great guys but two individuals who do a lot for the KC community.
Next up, Smallville Comic-Con will be taking place in Hutchinson, KS (temporarily renamed Smallville for the weekend) on Saturday and Sunday. They've got a great lineup of guests this year, including the original Supergirl Helen Slater, as well as creators to meet and activities to participate in.
And if your tastes run to horror, be sure to visit Crypticon Kansas City, running Friday through Sunday. With guests that run the gamut from Elvira to Sean Patrick Flanery and a jam-packed schedule of horror-themed events, you're bound to have a bloody good time.
Back to Kansas City Comic Con proper, you may have noticed that the announcements are now coming fast and furiously. We'll be adding new guests practically every single day along with new activities for the whole family.
Well, maybe not the whole family. We did just add a number of tattoo artists, with more on the way. Make sure to schedule your appointment here. Last year, the artists were booked solid, and even though there are more of them this year, we expect the same end result.
If you'd like to run a game (role playing or board), be sure to check out the application to do so here. We'll be posting the schedule for gaming shortly, and everyone will have an opportunity to participate.
Speaking of participation, we're still seeking additional volunteers to help us make the magic happen in August. If you'd like to be one of those people, fill out the quick application here, and we'll add you to our roster.
